Hi all,

For a variety of reasons, my gf and I will not have been on a 'proper' holiday for nearly 3 years come January 2025, so I'd like to treat us...

Ideally, somewhere hot and 'exotic' for 10-14 days. We don't mind flying for up to 15 hours.

Ideally no more than £300 a night + flights.

Boutiques or adults only preferred. None of the Tui chav brigade to spoil things. We'd also consider Airbnbs.

We have a roadtrip of the southern States on our bucket list, but not for this trip, so the US is out. We also went to Mexico a few years ago and want to explore somewhere new.

Current shortlist includes South Africa, Thailand & St Lucia.

So PH H&T massive... Do your thing!

Thanks in advance.

Tui do couples. Some great hotels too. Despite being initially sceptical we have just returned from Sal Hasheesh in Egypt Premier Le Rev proper 5 star individually owned hotel which was superb 87% Trip Advisor rating btw.

Only for Chav couples obviously......

Thank you. I'll get back in my box!

Let me rephrase - no 'family friendly' all inclusive resorts full of skull tattoos and football shirts! I did one Tui holiday before which could be generously described as 'interesting', but having looked at their site there do seem to be some nice options so we probably got unlucky.

Will check Premier Le Rev, thanks.

Yes I think the main problem with many of the larger 'package' hotels in particular is that they are not actually 5 star even though they are rated as such, especially in Europe.

Many have a 65% Excellent rating on Trip Ad which ain't good enough imo.

Premier Le Rev e.g. along with a few others stood out because it was 87% TA Excellent...a big difference.

Fiji, Caribbean or something wild like Brazil or Africa?

If I were able to get this time off (kid in primary school ... denied!) I would look at something in South Vietnam.

Nice and warm, some great places to see, some good quality hotels and AFAIK completely not on the chav trail!

SE Asia is a safe bet, with Thailand being the obvious choice it does genuinely have something for everyone.

The downside is you might meet that chav type you mention, and you have the global versions coming from China, Russia, Australia etc but it still wouldn't put me off.

Malaysia is an option if you want somewhere a little calmer without the nightlife and backpacker scene.
