I had a post for Sard North but couldn't change the subject line.

I've decided to fly into Cagliari based on flight/accomodation options and flight times, the flight times are important as some just waste two days of holiday.

Cagliari looks like it would be good for some evening meals/walkabouts and the beaches around pula look nice.

Any recommended areas/activities again in the south?

Pah, well I'm replying on here to your Sardinia North thread biggrin

We have just got back from 9 days and it was absolutely wonderful, you can forget Mallorca, Greek Islands, etc. Sardinia is so much nicer and a shorter flight.

And, no Brits, so it was bloody lovely. Please don't tell anyone to go there, thank you.

Quick sit down on the balcony of our room having just arrived.

One of the many crowded beaches we found.

And another.

Bellisimo! All this in June as well.

I'm searching through properties and struggling to find something based on how close a lot are to beaches and the views they have like the one you had!

We even went in the sea, like properly swimming. It was a bit nippy but alright once you were in.

It really is a magical place, we never go anywhere twice but we're going to make an exception here and do the south next year.

Price wise I wouldn't say it was any more expensive than any other holiday hot spots either. Meal for two in the evening with a few drinks was always 50 - 70€, two coffees 4€, etc.

The normal roads are fine but I would certainly recommend some sort of SUV for the paths that lead to some of the beaches. Be a shame not to reach them because you've rented a GT3RS. biggrin

We stayed in two different hotels, the room up there was on the north west coast, and this was the view from the room in the second hotel on the north east coast.

Went last October, got up to 32c one of the days. Stayed just down the coast in Sant Andrea, went into Cagliari few times, pretty busy in town, but easy enough to walk around and see the main sites. Food is plentiful and cheap. All the beaches on the South East coast are as the above photos. pretty much empty and white sands. on our last day as we had a late flight we ventured out west round the peninsula and out to Grotte Is Zuddas and then worked our way back round the coast. it was a beautfiul day but was amazing how windy and cold it felt on the exposed parts of the coast compared to the east of Cagliari.

We've been to the north before and really liked it but it's not super picturesque with mostly rolling hills and crop land out of the towns, but the locals are all great and was surprised by how many people spoke English compared to previous trips to Italy.

Thanks, I'd be loving 32 in October! And will be getting a place with aircon just in case!

Im looking at Pula side and have seen a few on the side you've stayed on as we can see Cagliari and get a bit of civilisation.

Also hoping Cagliari might be playing a game too!
