Sevill in July. Are we mad?
Discussion
Hello, always wanted to go to Seville and have an opportunity to go in first week in July for a few days
Will the heat be too much to get around and do stuff.
We will only be there for three days and would like to cram as much in as possible and worried that the heat would be too much
Any guidance much appreciated
Thank you

Could be warm, could be hot, just plan accordingly and it'll be fine. Will the heat be too much to get around and do stuff.

If it's hot, start the day early - Have a nice lunch in a cooled restaurant or schedule a museum, bit of a siesta and back out late afternoon.
Only you can answer that last year it was late 30’s touching 40 degrees C. For some brits that would be unbearable others would cope fine my pale skinned wife wouldn’t leave the hotel. Last time we went to Spain was in the winter and it was 20 and nice and warm the locals were wearing coats lol!
Went in July a few years ago, got the train from Malaga for a day trip, obviously train fully AC'd. Seville beautiful city lots to take in but it was bloody hot! Did one of the city bus tours open top deck it was like someone holding a hot air paint stripping gun to my forehead! We went on a Saturday and its clear to see why the citizens of Seville head to the coast at the weekend. We spent the rest of the afternoon drinking ice cold soft drinks in one of the bars in the city centre. Well worth visiting though just take suitable precautions and have access to a gallon of iced water!!!
I went for Santa Semana which is early May. I live in Dubai and so well used to the heat. I would not choose to go to Seville in July.
It’s a city for strolling and exploring. The main sights are not built for the heat and in the old town the streets are narrow. With no movement of air I would imagine that the heat will ‘hang’ and be extremely unpleasant.
Lovely city, just go at the right time. Florence is another that is horrible in the height of summer imo.
