Thailand eSim recommendations
Discussion
Easiest is using one of the apps - Airalo or Nomad are the ones I use - depending who has the best deal at the time. You don't get a local number, just data, which has been fine for me. You can set this up before you go so it works as soon as you arrive.
The cheapest option is still to buy a local SIM over there, plus you get a local number, but means spending a little time on your trip sorting it, plus no data on arrival.

Guess you cant take a regular sim? True mobile, in most if not all 7-11s, 200 Baht (£4.37 ) for 1 month unlimited (throttled after 30Gb)
Before e-sims were a thing I would get one of those and put it in my iPad and use it as a hotspot, so that I could still be contacted on my main number. These days I use the Mobimatter app. It seems to be an aggregator or market place for lots of different offers. Best deal for Thailand is 50gb for 10 days for USD 8 with dtac. If you need it longer 30 days 30gb also working in Singapore and Malaysia for USD 13.99
We used Airalo for 3x eSims from Dtac - went with their $19.99 offering for unlimited data over 15 days. Worked a charm.
You can pick up the same physical sim in any 7/11 and lots of other places too (booths at airport for example). We got one of these too for a child without eSim capability.
You do need to present your photo ID to obtain a simcard in Thailand, this applies for the eSims through the app too.

Don't do this, but it as I said above, no photo ID needed on trip and its only £5 from trip.com with 50gb.You can pick up the same physical sim in any 7/11 and lots of other places too (booths at airport for example). We got one of these too for a child without eSim capability.

If you stay longer you can top it up, 88bath for 8 days.
