Yes- know it very well as we travel through it every couple of months.

The centre is dense, but a very nice place to stay as lots in walking distance.

What do you want to know?

Central is good, but parking a nightmare if you have a car.

The train station is right by the bus station and also the port, so always taxis around. The whole of the centre is in walking distance, so you may not need one. There’s quite a few loft apartments in the old centre (Diocletians Palace). Also decent hotels that’s aren’t too pricey. If you want hotel recommendations let me know. I stayed in a nice airbnb years ago but can’t remember the name

A bit late now but I stayed at Heritage hotel Santa Lucia. Was a really good hotel in the heart of the action.

That side of split is the more out of town side so should (although I’ve not been there myself) be nice. The north and east sides of the city are particularly busy. The central part in the old city wall is nice but busy in the summer
