Gatwick South Valet Parking
Discussion
I'm flying from Gatwick South for the first time in years. I will be taking the family and the 4 million pieces of luggage they will need so the vehicle of choice will be our VW California. It is under 2m tall, just, but the website says their is a 2m height restriction. Does anyone have experience taking a tall vehicle to this car park? I've heard horror stories of similar vehicles in multi stories having their roof scraped as it is driven up the ramp from one level to another. Or is there plenty clearance?

I'd give them a call or email asking how strict the 2M restriction is. You might be lucky and it's 2.2M but you really don't want to find out on the day.Is packing less not an option?
When I checked my car remotely recently I was amused to find that the official valet at Gatwick parked mine in the long stay whilst I was away. Whilst it saved me some time in reality I could have got up a bit earlier and saved some cash.
Worth considering if your worried about height?

Would it be worth doing your own valet parking?
Drop family and luggage off at the terminal, get a trolley for bags and send them off to wait at Starbucks whilst you drive off to long term parking.
Do reverse upon return.
You'll have to leave extra time for both legs but I'd not be trusting some of these firms with something as expensive as a Cali. You'll be handing it over to a minimum wage drone who just wants to get the job done as quickly as possible and couldn't care less about your property until it's too late.
