I’m visiting the Seychelles soon and just wondered what the best advice is for taking money.

They use Seychelles rupee but I don’t think it can be bought in the Uk, so we can take some out over there on Monzo but that’s limited to £200 or £600 over the 3 accounts we have. Anything over is charged at 3%

But is there any advantage to take euros or sterling to swap to SCR over there and get a better rate like you can do say in Thailand or Poland?

Thanks

I seem to recall when we went there (2009, so some time ago)- we took Euros with us. Maybe a few rupees too. Suggest you ask your travel agent too smile

Thanks.

No travel agent, we’ve booked it all ourselves.

I believe you can’t buy Seychelles rupees outside of the country so will be either GBP or EUR cash and a bit of card unless anyone else knows what to do.

Maybe GBP is better for converting to SCR so it doesn’t have to be converted twice and then a bit of EUR for spending over there

Years since I've been, but the preference is to have tourists pay in Euros or USD for touristy stuff. Some places will accept GBP.

I took USD when I went, everyone accepted it and paying that way seemed to be the norm.
