Car hire excess policies
Discussion
The ones that I have used have never mentioned the purpose of the hire
The last one I used was from https://www.insurance4carhire.com/, you should be able to check for any exclusions there
Never had to claim on them (yet..) and so cannot vouch for their customer service etc, but it was certainly cheaper than taking the Hire Companies excess insurance.

Hi all, looking for some advice, Ive got some meetings and site visits to do in a few European cities over the next few months, and I’d like to have an Excess policy thingy.
Which ones allow for use as part of a working trip (if any)
Thanks
never seen a distinction between leisure and business. You are insuring against excess not an actual claim.Which ones allow for use as part of a working trip (if any)

I use insuramce4carhire annual.
I use the comparison site https://www.moneymaxim.co.uk/ to compare rates, with the aim of going with a company I’ve actually heard off.

Insurance4carhire is backed by Carole NashNever seen any distinction between leisure and business use on these policies. Last time I bought a policy I used a link from Money Saving Expert's site and got a discount. I think a policy for the year (Europe) was about £35.
I've used insurance4carhire before too, but never had the need to make a claim.
Has anyone claimed on one of these policies and then found that it's been recorded on the CUE database meaning that the claim has to be declared when buying normal UK insurance?
