Ryanair payment problem
Discussion
I've not booked with Ryanair for maybe 20 years, for the last 3 days I've been trying to pay for a flight but keep getting the error message"
"Transaction could not be processed. Your payment was not authorised therefore we could not complete your booking. Please ensure that the information was correct and try again or use a new payment card".
I've spoken with their Customer service who have told me there is a payment issue which they don't know when it'll be resolved, try the app, try incognito, try clearing cookies etc etc. It looks like on clicking the payment button nothing is happen (I've tried Mac and PC).
I wondered if anyone else has lately or before had this issue, I've also tried paying via PayPal, Apple Pay and a variety of cards....no cigar.

Did you try the app as they suggested? Whenever I've had issues with Ryanair the app has worked."Transaction could not be processed. Your payment was not authorised therefore we could not complete your booking. Please ensure that the information was correct and try again or use a new payment card".

I'm still having problems, all the way through the process then it falls at the last hurdle. Tried the app, direct with the website, via a third party etc no luck yet.
Finally got it. I tried three different identities and four different devices before I got over the last hurdle. Still no idea what was wrong with all the other attempts.Astonishingly this still doesn't seem to be resolved
I tried to book Saturday afternoon and again Sunday morning and got the same message, I did the usual tricks of different browsers, different cards, different computers and still the same error. I called and spoke to them and was told it was a known issue with their website (Didn't realise it'd been going on for over a week) and if I went on the live chat they'd be able to book it for me. I did this and, after a couple of hours, huzzah flight booked.
This morning I get an email saying that because I've booked via a third party travel agent (their own live chat ) the booking has been blocked and I need to pay to verify my identity for the booking to be reactivated. It's only a nominal 59p so thought I'd just do it, as much as the principle has annoyed me, but alas I get a processing error whenever I try. I'm waiting for live chat for help again now.
I've heard tonnes of horror stories about Ryanair but never actually flown with them; not deliberately, they've just never been the best option. However, if this is how much trouble it is to simply book a flight I'm starting to think I should actively avoid them in future.

We're having the same issue, wife booked through booking.com, and now can't get past the verification.
Ryanair have had a spat with online travel agencies (OTA) of late so I wouldn't put it past them to be playing silly buggers.OTOH, try using a different browser or computer.

Regarding this 'third party agent' issue, this is also an error too! After speaking to their live chat (twice) they told me that this they would fix this so it was no longer looking like a 3rd party booking and I didn't have to upload the documents etc.I tried to book Saturday afternoon and again Sunday morning and got the same message, I did the usual tricks of different browsers, different cards, different computers and still the same error. It did take some chasing to get them to actually action it....people slam BA for many things, but i've never had an issue with them taking my money!

I had issues last week. I switched to Apple Pay and it worked.
Just an update to this. Couldn’t check in using the app yesterday today says too close to flight to check in. Airport check in cost more than the flight and have to call to challenge it as the desk can’t do anything Only reason for using this flight was for the timings rather than cost but what a crap system and I’m guessing the number to call will cost more than any refund I’ll get.
Still the same tonight, tried 4 different cards same error message, phoned them finally spoke to a lady who told me the website is having a few problems this evening, download the app and try that way as we can’t take payment over the phone. Did that downloaded the app payment went through immediately and confirmed with an email seconds later. If this has been going on since January I’m bloody surprised it’s not been picked up by the MSN or Martin Lewis!
