Is there any cars close to Terminal 2 short stay parking without having to take the free shuttle bus?

Car Hire? I don't think so. There are hire desks in the terminal but they will need to take you to the hire base

Edited to make clear - the car hire companies run their own direct shuttle buses to where their cars are kept.

No hire car locations next to the terminals, most are on the perimeter road. Avis used to have a location on the top floor of the T5 short stay car park, but that closed/moved just on a year ago.

Indeed - I discovered this recently having used it in the past. Booked with Enterprise instead and to be fair it was fine, shuttle bus was quick out and in.

Sixt at the Sofitel in Terminal 5 is good, but if you're flying into 2 it doesn't make any more sense to go there Vs get on a bus.
