Prague - Christmas

Looks like I’ll be heading to Prague the week before Christmas.

Looking for advice on good beer away from the tourist traps. Going to do a lot of walking and have a list of sites but anything out of the ordinary that I should take a look at?

Staying in Prague 7 do about 25mins walk from the old town.

Got great advice before going to Krakow last year so hoping PH comes up trumps again.

The cinema Bio Oko is in Prague 7 and is definitely not a tourist trap - nice bar with atmosphere. Also just around the corner on Hermanova is a small bar/cafe which was also absolutely not a tourist trap! I can’t remember its name unfortunately. Lovely area actually.

I’m not overly interested in Christmas stuff so some good drinking and off the beaten path stuff is absolutely spot on.

If you fancy a museum experience like no other, check out the KGB Museum, quite close to the castle.

It’s a wonderfully charismatic, knowledgeable, animated (maybe slightly imaginative) Russian guy, showing people around the ground floor of his house, with some fantastic exhibits. By the online reviews, a few find the subject matter a bit distasteful (I won’t throw in any spoilers). A highlight for me!

Beer Geek out near the Zizkov TV tower. Nearest station is Jiriho z Podrbrad on line A about 1 minute walk from the bar

Not a surprise that it’s not on Tripadvisor.

Looks “interesting” though not really somewhere I’d go.
