Does anyone have experience of the 'Fly-Cruise-Walk-Fly' tours from Queenstown to Milford Sound?

No I haven't but you would miss one of the most scenic roads in NZ.
If you don't like the long Bus trip, stopover in Te-Anau

I've 'tramped' the Milford Track a few years ago & it was an absolute delight. The numbers were limited so you had a real feeling of wilderness once out on the track.

We booked everything separately and arranged transport from Queenstown. The wildlife was ever present, we saw avalanches and the views were typical NZ. The Keas are delightful but don't leave your stuff lying around or they'll have it away! I recall the road trip out of Milford Sound was pleasant enough.Highly recommended if that's your kind of thing.
