Hi all, I hear almost everyone knocking Trainline and I don't know why?
Don't all train operators (I know Trainline isn't one) have to offer the same tickets at the same prices? I've never noticed Trainline being more or less expensive than another one, and the benefit of using the Apple Wallet is great.
The only downsides I can see are a booking fee (a lot of the others charge a fee anyway) and the lack of automatic delay repay.......or am I missing something else?

national apparently have the cheapest fares on their website. Don't all train operators (I know Trainline isn't one) have to offer the same tickets at the same prices? I've never noticed Trainline being more or less expensive than another one, and the benefit of using the Apple Wallet is great.

sometimes (usually) booking direct with the company is cheapest, but TL is coinvent if booking multiple operators (in one trip).
I use all 3 options, I haven't found TL to more expensive other than the booking fee usually. The website is more difficult to use than it needs to be though.
In the past TL used to be a lot more expensive than booking direct, maybe they can't do that now.
I work for the railway, not in ticketing but I have access to a Facebook group that contains a lot of staff who are involved in ticketing, and the main issue is they sell tickets for trains that sometimes dont exist and also charge a booking fee.
I always book direct with the train operator these days usually LNW or Avanti.
