Next week off work - where would you go?
Discussion
I have next week off work.
Mrs isnt off work.
I have a Van with a diesel heater and a bed in the back.
Where would you go?
This year I've done NC500, Amsterdam, Mallorca, Iceland, Cornwall and Pembrokeshire (not all in the van...)
Previously we've been all over France, apart from the Prynees and South.
I'm looking at jumping on the tunnel early hours Tuesday and getting back home on Saturday. I'm happy for long hours driving.
Was thinking maybe Mercedes/Vw/BMW museums (partner wouldn't be massively interested) altho not how scenic those areas of Germany are.
Never been to Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy...perhaps a long drive down to Spain?
Advantages of staying the UK would be I could bring the dog along and make it more of a walking/outdoor type trip.
Any ideas?

Never been to Belgium
Problem solved, Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp. Lovely old cities, fantastic beer and good food.Steve Campbell said:
Ferry across to Ireland and explore the west coast (I haven't done it but it's on the "retired" list of things to do)
Worth also considering the east coast, ferry to Rosslare, work your way through Wexford and Wicklow, up to Dublin and get the ferry back from there.Smurfsarepeopletoo said:
Stuttgart for the Porsche and Mercedes museums, and also take a trip through the black forest while your there.
A good recommendation. You could also include a visit to here which looks amazing https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/

Some great suggestions (I'd definitely get onto the continent) and it sounds like a fantastic thing to do - just set off. Look forward to seeing where you end up!Midlands based if that helps.

North Cornwall came calling again.
I've spent so much time here since I was little...and after losing my dad earlier this year, I felt a pull to visit the place again.
We last holidayed here together last October and a few months later we lost him to a short fight with cancer.
Il be retracing some steps we last took together in October '22.
Booked a really nice Air Bnb with a log burner, drove down this morning and the dogs been loving life on the beach. Hes currently asleep infront of the fire and I've got my kindle to get stuck into, as well as a few rattlers and some rum.
Stuttgart has been pumped to the top of my solo travel to do list. Il head over there via Motorbike in the spring for sure.
Thanks for all the suggestions

All the mentioned (the only one I haven’t seen is VW) are great, Mercedes particularly so.
There’s also

But nothing wrong with some time in Cornwall!
