Hi All

Looking for some help/inspiration/experience/recommendations

10 nights - All Inclusive - Budget up to £8.5k - 4 adults, 2 kids, 2 rooms

Between 30th July to 15th August (10 nights only)

Last year we went to Gran Canaria stayed at the Lopesan Hotel - Abora Catalina, it was great for the kids, we had 1 day out to the Aquarium and swerved the water park as we didnt really need to due to the Kids pool/aqua slides being more than adequate.

Next year my parents are coming with us. Were looking at something just as good, realistically needs good kids entertainment, slides and kids pool but decent evening entertainment.

Looking at Ibiza, Canary Islands (Tenerife - Siam Park appeals), Majorca and the Greek Islands.

Anyone have any recommendations or experience of which island/destination would have both places to see for day trips and a little bit of a nightlife/pubs for me and my Dad plus kids trips out?

Thanks in advance.

A couple of months ago we stayed in the Olympic Lagoon Resort just outside Ayia Napa in Cyprus and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went All Inclusive Plus which meant you were entitled to meals at the various restaurants on site - two had Michelin stars (an Italian and Pan Asian) and the food was fantastic. The standard All Inclusive stuff was also very good, and it had a US Style Diner if you fancied something a bit different.

There was a massive kids pool that looked to have stuff going on during the day, and there's a huge waterpark next to it with slides etc which looked great for families. Loads of day trips that can be done - Famagusta Old Town is worth a look, and Pretoras is lovely and has a stunning beach. Obviously they are easier if you have a car, but if that isn't possible there are more than a few tours leave from Ayia Napa which is a quick taxi ride away.

We also found a fantastic sunset cruise which went out to the Blue Lagoon, round the coast then went back to Ayia Napa as the sun sets - highly recommended.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from Ayia Napa itself which is still a very enjoyable night out - nowhere near as crazy as it was 20 years ago and felt perfectly safe - there's a cracking bar in the Town Square - funnily enough called the Square Bar - that usually has live music and plenty of drinks on tap. We got taxis in on 3 separate nights which were about €10-€15 each way and had a great night each time. There's a lovely traditional tavern just off the main drag which we thoroughly enjoyed also.

We spent most of our last two days there figuring out when next year we were going back - although we may try the Paphos one next time as we haven't seen that side of the island, other than a quick trip to Aphrodite Hills for some golf.

I can second Mexico, as my family went there in 2022 and it was a brilliant holiday – although we didn’t go all inclusive.

We started in Mexico City, then flew to Acapulco, after which we drove across Mexico to Tulum, flying back from Mexico City via Cancun.

For an all-inclusive:

Pacific Ocean: I’d recommend the Emporio in Acapulco (we just had B&B, but other options are available), but I’m not sure how long it will be before Acapulco recovers. I would definitely go there again.

Caribbean: My preference would be Tulum over Cancun.

Note kids age in Mexico is under 12.
