Annecy or Bourget

Hi any pointers or recommends from those in the know...looking at combining road trip with outdoorsy type holiday.
and have narrowed it down to booking one of these areas for 2 weeks late Spring...

Budgeting around/below £1k for a little gite, just me and my partner, plus 2 bikes and a Cayman; seems to get you something a little closer to the lake in Bourget around the south or much further out up in the mountains in the Annecy region....but equally don't mind total seclusion in the hills

Where would the wise base themselves, we'll head off for the day on the bikes, or spur off for a blast in the car through the mountains, or if the weathers great a day by the lake, and we can drive into town for evenings

I expect they are both great locations but if one would pip it for you, please let me know why!!

We did a tour of Europe for our honeymoon this year and spent a week in Annecy as part of it. We were in the south which was perfect for us as it was quieter and better suited for bike rides south to albertville. If we wanted to go into Annecy for a relaxed breakfast and coffee we could go along the lake cycle route and if we fancied some big climbs you have those too including the Forclaz. Everything was bike and hiking centred. I’d certainly go back.
