Do not panic.

The RAF will be sending a few Vulcans to RAF Akrotiri to help out!

It's the many Russians on Cyprus that you need to worry about.

I understand your concerns - we were looking at a week cruising from Dubai and I'd be lying if I said that the situation (even though it's a good distance away) didn't concern me

yep - lots of Ruskies in Paphos - we were there last year and felt a little uncomfortable in some areas of Paphos

A cruise from Dubai? Where the hell does that go?

Current situation has its roots in Saudi/gcc vs Iran. Been simmering diplomatically all summer. So whilst there is a concern, there’s Pretty close to zero chance of the firefight spilling over imo.

Tbh I’d give that a miss and has nothing to do with politics. 2k starting for inboard rooms and an itinerary that’s all driveable, you’d do far better with a hire car and a steer on hotels. Boarder crossing to Oman is a non event. Bani yas is the only highlight given it’s a private resort but you won’t get the benefit of staying there and enough of a highlight to warrant it.

Don't think I'd be too concerned. Geographically speaking you're closer to Syria and Lebanon than Israel, plus there's a huge RAF base and a healthy UN presence patrolling the no-mans land between the North and South parts of the Island.

I'd just go an enjoy yourself, we went to Ayia Napa a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time - great food and great hospitality as usual on Cyprus.

We've a work project started in the north of Cyprus. Few of our team on the ground there already. Our client is the EU and International Finance institutions who are generally pretty hot on security briefings in such places and there's no additional guidelines coming forth regarding what's happening in Israel. That is usually a decent indicator that it's safe.

There's no obvious signs of concern there from any quarters. I'm due to head over in November.

Obviously things can change but as of right now, I wouldn't let it cause you concern.

The sad reality is that as soon as you leave British soil for somewhere warm and nice, you're exposed to a higher risk than at home wherever you go.
