Just after some advice.
We’ve been to France loads of times but always avoided being in France during Bastille Day.
We’re looking to travel from Annecy to Epernay on Bastille Day - not sure if this is a good idea or to stay in Annecy another night.
Bastille Day is a Sunday next year.
I’m assuming everywhere including bars & restaurants will be closed but what about petrol stations, motorway services?

Travelling will be no problem but nearly everything will be shut mostly because it’s Sunday not Fete Nationale.

Bank holidays and Sundays are the opposite of UK.
Hgvs are generally prohibited on Sundays there are exceptions fresh produce etc. normally the motorway service lorry parks are full.
I try to travel Sundays if I’m going any distance.
Go for it.

OK thanks guys. Sounds like it’s the best day for travelling then.
We always travel down to Eurotunnel first thing on a Sunday leaving around 03:30 from the North East.
We’re used to the French restaurants being closed on Sundays and Mondays but there are exceptions so I’m sure we can work around that.
