Hi,

I'm in France renting from Alamo at the moment and want to go into Montpellier and i'm not sure if I need a sticker.

When I go to register it sends the sticker to the registered address so that that one out.

I have contacted the rental firm so will hopefully get a response today but has anyone else had this before?

Closest I found was Enterprise saying cars where exempt in the fleet due to emission ratings.

The owner of the vehicle is liable for Crit’Air compliance - not the driver.

I received the same reply as the one from Enterprise ( all Thrifty’s fleet is compliant, hence no sticker) and I spent the last week with the car in the Beaux Arts district of Montpellier.

I used the car very little because as you’ve probably discovered the town centre is pretty much car free and the trams are very good and cheap - €10 for 10 trips.

Let me know if I can help with any info.

I was only going to take the car to the Zoo in the North and then a moozy into the city centre for lunch.

So re you saying crit air was not required based on the emissions ratings?

When I went to purchase the sticker it said the cost was zero anyway.

It's all a bit unclear on any of the government websites so thanks.

FYI I got a reply (after risking it anyway) from Alamo to say that it was fine as all fleet are Crit 1/2 compliant.

Not anywhere in writing though.

It does amaze me though that with the amount of tolls I've gone through they don't just do a payment on at least the main routes in.
