Mrs Pugmitch and I are off to Bali next week. Both old crocks but love the sun. Never been to SE Asia so some help from you lot in the know would not go amiss. We’re based in Sunur and would like some ideas as to restaurants and places of interest that don’t require too much walking.

14 years almost to the day since we stayed in Sanur for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Hyatt gold which was excellent. We often just walked along the main road from the hotel for meals out and I don't remember a single bad meal. Unfortunately I can't remember any names of places we ate.

It's probably changed massively since we were there but Sanur was quite small, with big hotels along the beach that tourists didn't leave. Kuta you have far more choice for bars and restaurants but it's full of young Australian surfers so aimed at that crowd.

It's worth touring all over the island if you can. When we were there you could just agree a fee with a local as a driver for the day and they'd go wherever you wanted.

I'd love to go back some day.
