Has anyone taken a car seat on a flight? I am only 15 minutes from the regional airport we are flying from so its not got to be dragged on a long trip then into LGW/LHR.

It will be for the hire car not the plane and I'd need to take the isofix part for underneath as well so not sure how this would sit in Ryan airs policy of two items.

So is it worth the aggro for 50 quid being saved on the other side.

Just get a car seat bag and they will put it in the hold for free (I know, surprise!)

You'll have to take it to the oversize bag drop though and collect it with your stroller wherever it pops out on the conveyor

It's also a place to pop some heavy or bulky things wink like the nappies etc, although EasyJet weighed ours at Palma a couple of weeks ago, first time ever but she was a jobsworth (11.6kg as we had all our toiletries in there)

"At the airport, you can check in 2 items of baby equipment per child (1 pushchair + car seat, booster seat or travel cot) free of charge."

I was just going to bubble wrap it but will look for the bags available, we've got 25 hold and 10kg each on board as part of the family plus tier so should be fine for luggage, might be a good idea on the way back so I can get some vino in.

It's bournemouth and carcassone regional airports so really small airports and handling I think.

Other issue is knowing I've got ISOFIX on the rental car so will contact them.

Yep, I thought someone was trying to get six abreast in their back seat.

Then flog sandwiches and scratch cards.

Yes just this past week, we got back this morning from Alicante airport to Bournemouth.

Put it in a car seat bag (and some other items in there too) and there were no issues either end.

They did destroy our suitcase though, on the way out. Which was a pain. Ended up binning it there.

Don’t hire a car seat abroad, they’re cheap and nasty. I would never put my child in one.

This is only our second flight with little man so we are learning, I've just ordered a seat bag online (red thing).

Be useful to whack a few nappies in there as well.

Yes that’s what we had. We managed to get two beach towels, and a few other bits on too.
