Who's going on holiday at half term? We usually go somewhere in the UK, but last year went abroad and considering it again this year. Anyone else booked up?

I'm struggling, - with it being the last week of Oct, the weather is not guaranteed almost anywhere in the Med.

I was thinking Canaries, considered (and ruled out) Dubai, but am otherwise stuck for ideas.

Heading off for a week in the lake District, I'm not expecting much in the way of sun but we're in the middle of nowhere, away from most other civilisation, bliss!

Just nearly st myself because I've got 12 days off in October and had forgotten there's a half term in October.

Seems like it's the week after my leave though thankfully.

We're going to wait and check the weather a few days before to see if it's worth it. The Canaries is as far as I want to go with a 2 and 3 year old but we've already done that this year.

Cyprus maybe if the weather is decent and there's a deal to be had.

This is the quandary we find ourselves in. It's last week in Oct, first in November and many places are shutting down. I don't want to go too far as it's only a week. Canaries seems to be the only option.

I've had good weather (warm enough for the beach/sea swimming) in Sardinia and Malta at that time of year.

We had a stunning week in Italy (Florence, Rome and Venice) last week of October before COVID. We may have been lucky, but it was wall to wall sunshine for 7 days minus a day in Pisa and shorts/t-shirts.

Anyhoo, slightly less exotic, we're off to East Devon/Dorset border for a week this October

Just trying to work that out - Rome is currently the front-runner, on the basis that we haven't been to Italy before, and there are flights at sensible times from our local airport.

Last year we did Cornwall and had amazing weather for October half term.
This year we are also struggling and already have a couple of weekends booked over the next few months.

If we’ve missed the boat on this one will go in February half term and will do our usual post Christmas Lake District break

I’ve no idea why but three people who I know (but they don’t know each other) have all had short, 1-week breaks in Gdańsk for the last week or two. Never would have occurred to me but their posts on SM do make it look like a decent place.

Dubai. We enjoyed our stay last October HT, but didn’t get to see/do everything we would have liked so heading back. Looking forward to it.
