I am struggling to find car rental from Alicante airport which has a late pickup. We arrive 0045hrs and the big hire firms are closed by 2300hrs and do not take bookings.
Any recommendations?

Alicante airport car hire firms are renowned for closing on time and sometimes before late running flights land leaving people in a right mess.

Depending on how far you need to travel, I’d suggest a taxi to get you to your accommodation and then one back in the morning to pick up a car. You save a days car hire cost to offset against taxi fares.

Thanks Phil. Transfers are £150 one way (to Moraira) and care hire likely to be less than that for the 4 days we are there, so keen to make it work if possible. That said, having a care not essential once there as we can potter about and enjoy the town.

Unfortunately I think you’re a bit stuffed unless you want to hang around the airport until the hire car places open in the morning, which seems to be about 7am.

My friend has a place there and he uses a company based in Moreira, rather than the airport

They leave a car in the car park for him and he just jumps in

I'll check on the out of hours thing, but he always used the late night (cheapest) flights!

He uses Mardrive https://mardrive.com/ - says they need a bit of notice, but he often collects a car in the early hours - certainly after midnight

Thanks Dan. I have made a booking request. They are pricey but it will be well worth it.

Sixt is open until 0100.. cutting it very fine. Personally i'd not risk it as they're not renowned for hanging about, even if they have your flight info. Might be worth calling them direct.

Mardrive rang me today to confirm. They are leaving a car at Alicante airport and just want me to pop to the office in Moriera the following day to settle the paperwork etc.

Brilliant and thanks for the recommendation.

Sorry to bump this, but were MarDrive any good? I need a couple of cars in the summer.

Recommendations so far are Coys and Giner.

Thanks all
