We are visiting Stuttgart and Munich in the next 2-3 weeks on a road trip, our cars are all Euro 6 compliant, do we still need to purchase green stickers or does this only affect cars that don't comply with Euro 6?

Even cars that comply with Euro 6 need stickers in the "Umwelt" zones

There are various LEZs in Germany, there is a single sticker you need to get for any/all of them.
You can buy one online here https://www.berlin.de/labo/mobilitaet/kfz-zulassun... - this is Berlin's site (I used this to get the sticker despite the fact I was visiting other German cities and not Berlin).
They're pretty quick, if you do it now you should get it in the post within 1-2 weeks in my experience.

You can get one on the spot, if you take your V5 and car to any of their TUV (?) which are the equivalent to their MOT stations

Drove through Munich last year to visit the Welt .. didn’t buy a sticker, didn’t get stopped, didn’t get fined but I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many Police cars anywhere

This is the site I’ve used for my last few cars (believe it’s cheaper than other German states)

We were in Stuttgart last year, all cars seemed to have them apart from cars from Romania - didn’t see a single sticker on their cars, they must be exempt.

I’ve never bothered either. Has anyone on here - not “their mate” or “someone my wife’s nail technician heard of about from her cousin” actually been fined for not having one of the French/German etc emissions stickers?

It’s not like you’re defrauding anyone if your car is compliant.

Could you imagine how many stickers you’d have with your crit air, umwelt, Swiss and Austrian motorway vignettes, how many other countries do these things?

Mind you - just imagine what it’s going to be like when we get round to every single city and town of any size having a clean air zone. We’ve basically regressed back to the days of the turnpike.

Can’t say i bothered with the Austrian Vignette the last 2 times I was there, though it’s available online.

The Swiss one is also available as an e-Vignette now too - so less stickers required.

Our Crit Air one never arrived, I only have the emailed one, so that is placed in the council parking pass holder.

Saying that, it’s more likely that any enforcement would be via ANPR and since we left the EU they can’t access the DVLA database so no repercussions.
