Off to Krakow next weekend (Friday to Monday) and other than a day trip to Auschwitz and the salt mine on the Sunday, we don't really have anything planned. Might yet change that to the Saturday but what else would people suggest?

I don't mind a museum but don't really want to do too much of that kind of thing - quite happy mooching round outside and seeing what is going on, assuming the weather is good.

The Jewish quarter is well worth a visit but I don't recommend the Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory , It may be because I went the day after Auchwitz and the Salt mines tours which are both excellent but I found the Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory quite poor really.

The castle is very impressive and well worth a visit, we didn't pay for the inside sections but just walking in and around the grounds was worthwhile

Done a shooting range before and it was ‘ok’. Not sure the person I am going with would be too keen either.

We did a walking tour which was very good, lots of history in the main square and Jewish quarter. Auschwitz was very sobering, though we didn't combine it with the salt mines.
Plenty of good restaurants and the main square is very busy at night.

Energielandia is halfway to Auschwitz if that's your thing. We're going October half term, flight times regretfully mean we can't do Auschwitz, but it's on my list for a return visit at some point.

I guess it depends on what you like, interest, age etc.
The salt mine is very impressive and will be worth it. Auschwitz is also worth visiting but quite sobering too.

It's nice to walk around the city centre with plenty nice places to eat and drink. At the weekend a few years ago we visited the Singer Bar which had an excellent retro vibe. There was also a nice restaurant on one of the boats docked by the Wistula river (sorry can't remember the name). Jewish quarter is nice too with plenty of nice bars.

Also I've not been but there is a museum under the old town square which is supposed to be worth a visit.

Auschwitz and Birkenau are a must, salt mines we felt were very disappointing as did a group of 3 others we got chatting too on our tour, but whenever they come up in similar threads we appear to be in the minority.

This place is pretty good:

We loved the salt mines, our entertainment aided by the deadpan guide that we had - "what do you think floor is made of here?" er... salt? "Correct!"... and so forth

We went with our running group and did the Zielony Jar parkrun which was a tram ride away and they couldn't have been more welcoming, if that's your thing

Don't drink in the main square as it can be expensive and much cheaper away from the tourist areas.

There’s a long Krakow thread on here somewhere- worth a read.

All I have to say is:

Fire breathing Dragon at night
Segway your
Jewish quarter is much more interesting than the north end
Eszewaria - get out in the back garden for a few beers.

I'm amazed you found the salt mines underwhelming!
I wouldn't visit the salt mines on the same day as Auschwitz though.

Last time we went we did a vodka tasting tour. Depends if it's your thing, but it was interesting hearing about the history of local vodka and getting to have a taste!

I've been a few times and go along with the recommendation of visiting the Jewish quarter in the evening.
Eszewaria and Alchemia are my favorites although Alchemia seems to be attracting a younger more student crowd these days. Maybe it always did but I was younger myself when I first went?

There are plenty of great drinking places including several cellar bars which have a great atmosphere. I enjoyed the salt mines and Auschwitz-Birkenau are a must. Schindler's factory is pretty much a derelict site rather than a museum. Not the best experience but if you you've seen the film it's quite interesting once you know the history.
