Hi all,

Going to Brighton for a day out on Sunday (first time visiting) and looking for a few tips. We're going to do the i360, sea life and an open top bus tour so activities are pretty much covered.

Does anyone know a good place to park that won't cost a fortune? best i've found so far is the multi storey at the station (£8 for the day) but it looks a bit of a trek to the front. One of us does have a blue badge if that helps.

Also any tips on a place to eat that is budget friendly.

Cheers

I always park at Churchill Square shopping centre, great location but it’s not cheap https://churchillsquare.com/guest-services/#parkin.... Brighton actively discourages cars

Driving and parking in Brighton is a nightmare, the greens have been in charge for years and have been at war with cars since they walked through the door, with traffic calming and 20mph speed limits everywhere. Ironically the gridlock is now worse than it ever was (and I would hazard a guess that the overall pollution from gridlocked cars and constant stop/start).

Anywhere within easy walking distance of the pier/sea life will be expensive (if you can actually find a spot). Might be easier with a blue badge (not sure if Brighton allows blue badge to park anywhere). Cheapest places to park are at the station or the marina, but both are a long walk. Might then be able to get a bus in though, or just take the hit on the extortionate parking fees.

Its free at the marina and lots of eating franchises there. Perhaps the open top bus passes there?

Otherwise the North and South Lanes are where you probably want to eat.

I used the industrial estate near Kemptown during a Bank Holiday weekend. Didn’t get ticketed as found a space on the road.

Asda Brighton Marina Car Park allows two hours free.

The station really isn't that far (but maybe for blue badge it is).

What food do you like? The marina has all the stuff you'd find anywhere else. You can take the little Volks train from the seafront. Also parking at Marina in the multi storey is 4hrs free.

Thanks everyone.

The Marina parking has a 4 hour limit unfortunately. However the open top bus does stop at the station so could always get on there.

Electric railway looks good for a ride along the front. For food i think we are going to the pump house pub which is in the lanes, seem to do decent roast dinner for £15, was expecting to pay quite a bit more.
