Discussion
Just mentioned this thread to my mrs. and she reminded me that we stayed here a couple of years back and I remember it being quite nice:

Another vote for Blakeney (and Blakeney garage!)
Beautiful place with a couple of good pubs, plenty of walks along the North Norfolk Coastal Path in either direction (Cley or Marston)
Loads of places to go nearby - Holt is the nearest bigger town, and Wells Next The Sea (French’s chips on the harbour front are the best I’ve ever tasted), Holkham, Brancaster and Burnham Market are all worth a visit.

Recommend the Harper hotel in Langham which is very dog friendly
Agree re Holkham Beach which is very wide and deep so good for dogs as is the trail through the woods behind it that leads to Wells next the Sea Beach.
You can park at Wells next the Sea Beach and walk to Holkham Beach or in reverse
The Victoria near Holkham Beach is good for food (again dog friendly)

We’ve stayed at the Harper with our dog and will definitely be returning. Agree with all the above. Agree re Holkham Beach which is very wide and deep so good for dogs as is the trail through the woods behind it that leads to Wells next the Sea Beach.

Was in Wells-Next-The-Sea the last week in July and as others have said very dog friendly.
You may struggle to find something cheap and for just 4 nights in August though - that's peak season in a major UK summer holiday area so lots of interest from potential visitors/accomodation providers rather have 7 paying nights rather than 4 paying/3 potentially empty.

N Norfolk in August will be heaving so personally would avoid staying in the honeypots, of blakeney, wells etc and simply visit them.
I think the gunton arms has dog friendly rooms is inland and away from the madding crowd, and does some rather nice food.
White horse at brancaster is not bad either.
i think the phesant at kelling used to allow dogs to stay, it can be a bit white hair brigade but used to be quite good generally, pre covid, and a decent base.
edit. to add any food recommendations just ask.

Another vote for the Gunton Arms. First went in January this year, been back twice since. They provide dog beds etc. I think the gunton arms has dog friendly rooms is inland and away from the madding crowd, and does some rather nice food.
