Looking for a decent hotel with secure parking in San Set, Logrono and Zaragoza - will be taking new car on trip so seeking decent sized spaces and secure car parking as a must - any recommendations please?

I stayed in the Hotel Orly in San Sebastian which was nice, but it was in 1965. smile

Fun fact :- (I had my first taste of melon in there)

We stayed in Villa Favorita in San Sebastian which was an amazing hotel and one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Not sure about the parking situation the valet parking chap took our car off and brought it back again a couple of days later when we left!

I’ve always stayed in the amara plaza silken , I think that’s what it’s called , in san seb . It’s a bit businesslike but it’s easy in and easy out for the autoroute and the parking is underground . It’s a twenty minute walk through town to the beach but we’ve always considered that a plus point , plenty of nice eateries and bars on the way plus some good shopping if that’s your thing .
Logrono isn’t massive but there’s a hotel with a car lift , I don’t recall what it’s called but it’s predominantly brown and wood in colour with a nice central atrium. Look on trip advisor or similar and you’ll soon know which one it is ! Head for “laurel avenue “ of all places for a day out eating tapas . The marques de muretti vine tour is well worth it , especially if you book the tasting menu with tapas , and the hotel will arrange the very necessary taxi !
No idea about the other place .

In San Sebastian the Sansebay has an excellent location and it's own underground car park accessed via a lift. The lift is quite tight, but a Maserati Gran Cabrio does just fit.

In Logrono, the hotel referred to above is the Aurea Palace - it also has an underground car park access via a lift.

Both of the above hotels are excellent, and in perfect locations in their respective towns. Both hotels are also in pedestrian zones, so you need to very carefully follow the instructions to find them.

Can't help with Zaragoza, sorry.

What are the parking spaces like once in the car park, I’ve a new 911.

Aurea saying no car park.

I stayed at the Silken Amara Plaza quite recently and it was fine. Definitely more of a business hotel but I did find it a bit far out of town for my liking. It’s a pleasant enough walk in and there’s a regular bus service, bit lugging stuff to/from the beach on those days was a bit of a pain. Car park was fine.

If I got a decent deal, I’d stay at the Lasala Plaza next time. Nice hotel right on the edge of the old town with a nice rooftop bar overlooking the bay. They have parking too.

View from the bar:

The Aurea Palace is the only 5* Hotel in Logrono - are you sure you're looking at the right one? It's the old post office and is right in the middle of the old town, very close to the Tapas bars. It's very definitely got a car park. The only problem (which happened to us in June) is if you arrive or depart in the middle of one of the two massive festivals they have every year, you won't be able to get into / exit the car park because of people queuing for things. Apart from that it's just fine and once you're in the car park it's fine.

Sansebay is fine too. As above, Lasala Plaza is also fabulous, but they "only" offer Valet parking and I have no idea where they actually park the cars. Lasala Plaza is about 100 yds from the Sansebay, so location wise almost identical, but it's a bit swankier than the Sansebay. Given you're in San Sebastian on the edge of the old town, all I want is a comfy bed, walk in shower, decent view from the room and a good cup of coffee in the morning. I find Sansebay perfect, but if there is a decent deal on the Lasala Plaza, I will stay there.

Aurea Palace - definitely mentions car park - unless it's fully booked on the dates you're visiting as there are only 10 spaces.

Secure parking and a good hotel in San Sebastian is challenging. We used the Zenit Hotel which is very near the Silken Amara Plaza mentioned above. It, too, is very much a business oriented hotel with very average rooms and possibly the most uncomfortable bed we experienced during our 17 day road trip in northern Spain back in May. We didn't eat in the hotel at all.

As others have said it's a good 20/25 minute walk in to town and the beaches but there are regular buses. On the plus side we did discover a very friendly cafe/bar on the main road in to town - Augustin Taverna which we used twice after long days out in SS and not in the mood to trek all the way back to town.

The underground parking is good but the standard spaces can be a bit of a squeeze. After being allocated one space I went back to the desk and asked to have one of the bigger spaces which wasn't a problem.

As for Legrono we stayed in Apartmentos Congressa so not an hotel but a nice apartment right in the centre. Parking was excellent but beware the high kerb at the entrance to the u/g car park. The front facing camera alerted me to a possible splitter conflict so probably paid for itself on that one occasion alone (thank you Aston Installations)

The Agustin Taverna comment made me smile - we did exactly the same thing one night when we were knackered. It's a very unassuming little place but the food (and drink) in there was excellent (as were the staff). Our Silken room looked out to the Zenit.

Happy memories and I'll definitely be going back - just closer/in town.

We stayed in Hotal Codina in San Sebastián. It had a good secure car park, but it was quite tight to get I and out. A nice location for the bay, but quite a way from the centre and old town. We had a big 7 seat hire car so the spaces must have been reasonable to get that in. Trouble is, the website is dead, so maybe it’s closed.

Just remembered we stayed in a hotel with a movie theme , it may actually be called something along the movie - cinema theme , it’s probably ten years ago . It’s just along the road from the amara plaza so still a walk if you don’t mind that sort of thing but most importantly for you it had a street level car park accessed by a key code to open a large garage door , the hotel itself was decent enough and as has been mentioned , a hotel in San Sebastián is somewhere to sleep and shower ,

If it’s got a creepy life size statue of Alfred Hitchcock sitting in a seat that people take photos with it’s the one , there’s a couple of hotels in that street that we’ve stayed in but it was ages ago when we first started visiting San Sebastián.
I think the other one was the Astoria perhaps ?

We stayed at Sercotel Calle Mayor in Logrono. The hotel has secure parking down the road with decent sized parks (for Spain) which we booked in advance, telling them it was a wide car. I was in my R8 (similar width to a 992) and there was a Bentley Conti in there too. Only trick is it's quite near the main pedestrian zone so you have to come at it a specific direction on some days / times but the hotel gives you the info.

In San Seb we stayed at the "Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo" on the hill overlooking the bay, quite impressive view but a bit of a treck or bus ride into town.

This was very useful, I've just booked 2 nights at the Aurea. You need to book directly to get the car park option as the booking sites don't show it. Looks fantastic.

Thanks all, very helpful, we’ve postponed logrono as our dates appear to coincide with their festival, which seems wild, to put it mildly.

Most Spanish festivals are wild. We stopped in Burgos a couple of weeks ago on the way to the ferry and monday night on the way back home. Lovely old city centre with nice bars and restaurants. Worth a look.
