Cruise 2024

Well seeing as cruises are booked well in advance I thought that a '24 thread might be appropriate, so here we are

Yay.

Two booked for next year so far and another two planned.

MSC Euribia for a Norway cruise from Copenhagen in May.

Ambassador Ambition, Ireland and Great Britain from Belfast (has to be be done as its Belfast!) In July.

We will book Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady around the Greek Islands from Athens for next September, when we are on Resilient Lady in a fortnight time.

Will likely try to squeeze in another one December 24. Maybe Cunard if the December 23 one goes well!

We've got Panama Canal (& Vegas stopover) booked for early next year and then P&O Aurora Northern Lights cruise in March. 1st time without a balcony (went for window only ) so that'll be interesting

Sounds good re Panama canal. It would be amazing!

We did an inside cabin on MSC Virtuosa last December and surprised ourselves by how much we liked it. Outside room would be good to try.

Alaska cruise on the QE booked for July, we’re doing the return from Vancouver.

Think we're going to book on to Iona in the next few days.

Our toddler loved Azura so think will get another one in before have to stick to school holidays!

Quite like the idea of a conservatory mini-suite if can't get any availability for the larger suites.

I like Azura, been on twice. Not that pretty but a good size, not to big not too small. I tried Britannia but found that too big for it's own good. Too many people for the public spaces available.

P&O Dover to Calais next Feb for a day trip.

Booked on the Queen Anne maiden in May.

Then back on the Queen Victoria in October, flying out to Istanbul and sailing back to Soton. Should be good hopefully.

We are booked with Marella for a far east cruise at the end of February. We've had it booked for 13 months already.

We were lucky to go back in 2019 and we loved it so we really wanted to go back and do a few of the things that we didn't have time to do last time.

Also booked on Iona to go to northern Europe in November with my dad and sister.

Booked Queen Anne in June. A 16 night med. trip. Hopefully teething will have been sorted in May

A friend has just done a cruise on the Iona. Her main complaint was that there felt like there was nowhere near enough staff on board to deal with 5000 guests.

Just come back from Med cruise with Costa....fantastic really really good.

Booked to go on Celebrity Beyond going through the panama canal in March looking forward to it. We did our first cruise in January again on the Celebrity beyond going around the Caribbean.

We did 3 weeks on her last year and a week in February during half term this year. We didn't find it an issue, There was a bit of a wait at times but it wasn't more than 10 minutes

Transpacific booked for October next year, Singapore to LA with Carnival. Some interesting stops along the way, 25 nights onboard so should weigh at least 10kg more by the end of the trip.

Virgin Voyages coming to the UK in 2024, from Portsmouth.

I suspect it will be Brilliant Lady - the latest and final ship of their four ship plan. We did Scarlet Lady from Portsmouth in 2021, then Valiant Lady from Barcelona in 2022, and doing Resilient Lady this Sunday from Athens.

Will definitely be going on one of these.

I like the idea of going from Portsmouth, but you’re just not going to get to any particularly interesting/haven’t been done to death destinations from there - especially if you want a sunshine/warm holiday.

Agreed RE: already been done routes, but the routes they will have access to are popular.

Iceland, Norway, Northern Europe (so across as far as Hamburg usually), Baltic Sea (possibly).

Canaries are also doable, which takes you down via France, Spain, Portugal.

Another route is down and round to the Western Med. Also doable on a 11-14 day cruise.

The appeal will be the UK sailing though. Other lines are doing it and its a popular starting point (usually Southampton). MSC, P&O, Norwegian, Fred O and Ambassador to name but a few.

We'll do it because its Portsmouth and because it'll be their fourth ship and we'll have then been on all four.

But yes, given they also sail from Barcelona, Athens and Miami, theres other options if someone wants to be assured of warmer climes.
