Off to Costa Rica, Guatemala and Belize in a couple of months. All of which aren't in my travel bundle so looking at eSIMs.

Do people have any recommendations?

Airalo or Nomad I've used in the past, pick what suits best for the country you're going to.

I used Airalo in Cape Verde - seemed to do the job, wasn't even aware of e-sims before then. Handy if your provider screws you on roaming charges.

This, used Airalo in Turkey recently, good value, it just worked, bit of a faff to initially set up (read the instructions) however I had been awake over 24 hours, which probably didn't help lol.

Wouid definately use them again.

3 PAYG SIMs still provide free (as in use your allowance) roaming in 70 odd countries. Costa Rica is amongst them.

No idea if they do eSIMs but handy if you need to call back to the UK for anything it's a godsend (conversely it's terrible if you want to call local).

famiily arr with three and they are quite good with roaming, if it’s not free it’s not too much to add it.
I’m with EE payg who are far from good wrt roaming.

That why I specified PAYG.

People on plans have to pay but not if you're on PAYG.

Airalo works great for me when working in Brazil & the US. Very reasonable prices too.
