Any recommendations for insurance companies,a 77 year old friend my need to travel to America ( his daughter has serious health issues).
He has undergone heart surgery 3 or 4 times. All suggestions greatfully received.

Do not, under any circumstances, allow him to travel here without proper travel insurance. Medical cost are astronomical in the US and there is no NHS. If he has a heart attack on US soil it could cost anywhere from $25-100k or more. A trip to the ER can be a couple of grand before they actually do anything and they collect the money up front if you don't have insurance.

Another vote for Statsure.

I have recommended them in the past and somebody posted to say that their experience with a claim (which I think involved repatration of a dead body) was stunning.

I used all clear for my annual policy this year.

I’m covered pretty much anywhere in the world but they specifically exclude travel to the US.

I have a pacemaker/ICD and a genetic issue. No meds but they wouldn’t cover me for the states.

Shop around but getting cover might be tough.

Staysure always get good reviews.
When you contact them they are very thorough, so you could be on the phone for some time. Make sure all your health issues are known.

Another shout for StaySure.

Wife and I are going to Italy in October for a few days and our bank provided travel insurance is no longer available as we've now exceeded the age limit. I had a pacemaker fitted last December, total right knee replacement surgery in May, and having the same for the left leg, probably May 2024. Wife has had three hip operations and takes high BP pills. Got a single trip quote from StaySure, reasonable price, covers everything including all pre existing conditions, no exclusions. All done inline.

IMO absolutely essential that you answer ALL questions especially about medical conditions etc.

Please note that I have not yet taken up the insurance with StaySure but will do so in a week or two.

You may know this, you should take it ASAP once your plans are fixed as it covers you against needing to cancel.

People often leave single trip insurance until the last minute as they're only thinking about cover for while they're away.
