Rome by Car

Hi - will be driving to Siena in Tuscany in a couple of weeks and will be within driving distance of Rome.

Any recommendations on how to get into Rome - where to park, drive to centre or outskirts and train in etc??

I've done both. Easy enough to drive into. Stayed in a hotel with a car park by the colloseum. Also stayed in a hotel on the periphery and caught a train in each day. Just use your GPS if driving in and look up restricted zones in advance. Got snagged by one in Pisa .
