Any experiences with Virgin Atlantic 'bid for an upgrade'?
Discussion
Flying VA, with my 14 y/o Daughter, to JFK in a couple of weeks. Currently going Economy Delight but I've already paid for extra legroom seats; I'm 6ft5 so its money well spent. Since booking the trip I've been considering having a punt on their 'bid for an upgrade' offer.
The VA site suggests a starting point of around £250 per person for PE and £750 P/P for Upper Class (no chance!!). I'm not fussed about the outbound journey but we are doing the red eye on the return so it's a consideration.
Has anyone ever had a go?

No, haven’t done it but I’ve just flown Virgin Atlantic Premium class from Manchester to New York and the seats cost me about £500 on top of economy (I think). Money well spent as I’m 6’ 3” and rather big build. Enough leg room, comfy wide and deep leather seat. The extra leg room means when the person in front selfishly reclines their seat it’s not really a problem. Also better food etc. glass of Prosecco when boarding and a choice of leak & chicken pie or pulled pork etc.
