Last minute, 2 days in Wales
Discussion
Given the crappy weather may start to improve tomorrow I want to get away for 48 hours starting Monday (tomorrow) morning.
Plan to leave Torbay by 9am and head up to North Wales through Snowdon but that's open to suggestion. Want somewhere nice to stop on Monday night (boutiquey hotel sort of thing around £2-250) then a slow drive back on Tuesday via wherever is nice.
Booking.com, TripAdvisor etc is not very helpful. Anyone got any recommendations where to visit or where to stay?

Crikey! That's an awful long drive just for one night. You really won't have time to appreciate North Wales, stunning as it is
Could stretch to two nights but need to be back home Wed late afternoon which would give an extra day.TO73074E said:
Head for the Ty Coch Inn at Morfa Nefyn, absolutely stunning. It's not that far from Abersoch so you could head that way on the Tuesday.
It used to be a secret. Nowadays, it can get quite crowded and parking is expensive.North Wales can be very rainy and every man and his dog will probably be there.
I've always been impressed with the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel.

Was going to suggest this. I have not stayed there as it's 15 miles from home. But i have been there for a few do's and they got them right. And the country side around there is lovely. https://www.expedia.co.uk/Oswestry-Hotels-Lake-Vyr...
I tried to go up Bwlch y Groes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bwlch_y_Groes from the lake on Monday and the road is impassable, so be aware.

Crowded? Yes. Rainy? Not this day!

Use to spend 2 weeks every summer in Morfa Nefyn as a kid in the 70s and a glass coke and a packet of crisps outside the Ty Coch Inn was our favourite treat.Hired a campervan for 5 days in September starting from Llandudno and planning on visiting after a gap of over 40 years.
Hopefully the weather will be ok and no school kids which is a win.
