My kids love a theme park, was thinking about a week in PortAventura. Combination of the park and pool. Any experiences?

We went many years ago. It's a great theme park with lots of good rides. Since then they've added even more. I would definately go back.

For context I've been to Orlando about 6 times so am used to great theme parks smile

I went when i was about 15 which from a quick google looks like it would have been pretty soon after the park opened so a lot of it has probably changed since then, but i really enjoyed it thumbup Obviously that was the thick end of thirty years ago though

Definitely worth a visit if your children are into theme parks. Agree with 98elise, for thrill rides its comparable to orlando but on a smaller scale.
Having said that I visited 7-8 years ago and seem to recall there are not many nearby hotels so staying in the park is a good idea. Also its nice as your entrance is inside the park so you can have a walk around and then head back to your room anytime without going in and out of the main gate and then having to travel.

It's very good and the waterpark is also very good although I've never been to a theme park in the US for comparison, have been to others in Europe and one in Mexico which was terrifying. In a good but also a genuinely terrifying way.

The King Khajuna slide is outrageous!

PortAventura was essentially Universal Europe these park, so you can understand why its so good. We have also been looking at PortAventura for next year. The water park is certainly a big draw for us.

Yes was there a few years ago for Halloween. Pay a bit more but stay on the park makes a big difference and you can return to apartment for food etc
