Just back from 11 days in Cavtat, just myself and the wife, stayed at the Croatia Hotel, really nice place with some beautiful scenery and plenty of big money yachts to gawp at on the Adriatic. It never got below 28 degrees for every hour day or night we were there. Visited Dubrovnik city twice via water taxi, once for the night as the summer festival kicked off with a firework display. Also took a coach trip to Montenegro which again was very interesting. The Croatian people we came into contact with were friendly and just wanted to ensure visitors to their country were having a good time. Food and Drink prices about par with the UK I would say. First time we've been and thought it was a great place for a holiday, judging by the amount of Irish and Scottish families there it seems that interest is certainly ramping up. One thing to watch out for is the pesky mosquitos that judging by the amount of people bitten I saw, must have been feeding well for the whole month. Insect repellent an absolute essential.

Me and mrs are off to kolocep in a few weeks time, it’s the nearest island to Dubrovnik and we’re really looking forward to it. Never been before but hear great things smile

Any tips for Dubrovnik? Did you go on the cable car?

Lots of GOT tours in the city centre that can be a bit of a pain to navigate, did indeed go on the cable cars to take a look at the city from above, it's not cheap mind around 45 euros return I think, didn't do the city walls walk which again is expensive but due to the fact on the day we went it felt like about a 120 degrees out in the open! We had a far better time finding a good restaurant in one of the many shaded back streets just off the main square. It's a lovely city to get around especially the old port and surrounding areas, bit of a bun fight for the water taxis but no worse than the London underground! Just outside of Mlini whilst we were there was the yacht Cyan, quick google revealed it to be owned by a band member from U2, who says spending your life singing in pubs and clubs never pays? Enjoy Croatia remember the insect repellent!!
