Hotel in Porto - parking essential
Discussion
The main tourist area is Ribeira near the riverfront. None of the hotels that I've stayed in near there had on-site parking. There's an underground car park at Saba Ribeira but it's hugely expensive (best part of EUR100 a day).
One decent place I have stayed with easy parking and right next to the metro is Hotel da Música, close to the Case da Música concert hall in the Boavista district (my kiddie was studying at the university nearby). It adjoins the fashionable Bom Sucesso, a former market with lots of food and drink stalls, so you're not short of options near to the hotel - walk down to the quays by way of the Livraria Lello bookshop with it's Harry Potter connections, then walk up the hill to get a metro train back (beware of pickpockets) or grab an Uber
One thing about the Hotel da Musica is that it's Israeli-run, which may be a plus or minus point for you. The Cervejas do Mundo beer stall next door (actually adjoining building) at Bom Sucesso has an amazing choice of brews on draft to go with the local specialities like leitão, roast suckling pig
