We've got a week booked in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote at the end of August.

Looking for recommendations for a private taxi transfer from the airport to the resort. So far, I've found Viva Transfers - https://www.vivatransfers.com/ - but would ideally like to have some recommendations based on personal experience.

Last time we were there, the TUI coach took forever (landed 6:00PM, didn't get to our hotel room until 21:30). With a private transfer, I'm thinking half an hour to get through the airport, then a half an hour drive to Playa Blanca. Does that sound about right?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Have you thought about hiring a car. Autoreisen are great value and don't harangue you with additional costs.

We have used sun transfers but for Playa Blanca we just hire a car. A Panda is the same cost as an airport transfer and you get it for a week. I use plus car.

Pretty sure taxis are well regulated and you can just get one from the airport and one from the town. about €40 each way when we went. Or hire a car and go exploring !

Just get a taxi outside the airport. Cheaper than transfers and there are loads waiting at the rank all day / night.

As others have said taxis outside are fine and hire cars are cheap and low hassle.

Last time I was there I rented and they didn't even look at the car when I returned it. Just drop the keys in a box and off you go.

I'd hire a car. As someone else said Autoressin are great.

I wouldn't get a taxi purely because the queues at the airport rank can be huge.

Autoreisen have been recommended many times on PH, You will find a small car for a week is cheaper than a return taxi.

Hire a car, we have for years, really relaxing place to drive, keep right in the roundabouts and enjoy.

Taxi's are about 50 Euro each way (could be a bit less - I think my lad paid 45 when he joined us in PB in May) Have you considered the 'service bus' (route 161) its 3.3 Euro and takes about 45 minutes & they leave the airport on the hour & half past - They are decent coaches (not bone rattlers with hard seats) and the bus stop is right outside arrivals hall
The downside is they terminate at the bus station in PB so depending on where your accommodation is, you may need a taxi from there (loads usually kicking about)
Historically we've used 'last minute' shared shuttle minibus - this year, in a moment of weakness I booked transfer via holiday extras - we sat in bus at airport for an hour whilst additional flights landed so they could fill the bus - wont do that again !!

Thanks for all the tips. I think we'll consider hiring a car, providing the hotel we're staying at has free parking (need to check).

There’s lots of free parking in playa Blanca - where are you staying ?

I'll second car hire - Cabrera Medina have always been impeccable, and prices are a fair bit lower than the Med resorts.
