Anyone currently here in France will have noticed fuel prices have sky-rocketed from last year (thanks to the French government removing the 30c/litre subsidy during the energy crisis) and higher than in the UK.
One way of finding out fuel prices in your area is to download the 1-2-3 Fuel app.
There is a big range in prices - cheapest for SPL98 so far is €1.80/litre (Normandy & Dordogne areas) but seen it as high as €2.24/litre at some motorway services (again there is huge range between services so worth checking)

The beauty of the App is it gives you all prices but yes generally it’s the supermarkets that are cheapest - however there is a wide variation even between these.

That seems to make French prices very close to UK prices I guess, give or take 5%.

I think the price rise is due to a surge of demand amongst the local youth due to the burgeoning Molotov Cocktail industry. paperbag

I was in the south of France in Jan and Feb and it was around the same, e1.80 to e2.20 depending on where you were - motorways or towns etc.

This was for 98.

Its a bit more expensive than the UK. I paid (IIRC) about £1.45 for Tesco 99 this week. (around e1.70)

Deffo worth topping your tank before you leave the UK!!

The sting can be fx rates... if they give you a bad rate it can eat away a lot of the fx advantage the euro has over the £.
