Has anyone been on a trip to the Taman Negara national park in Malaysia? Looking for recommendations for tours and accommodation. Heading there next month.

Similarly, seeking tips or advice on where to go and see turtles hatching. Needless to say there are plenty of results on Google, but up-to-date info from fellow travelers is always good to know!

26 years in Malaysia, like most things in the country those trips will require a licenced operator.
You will be fine just taking the advice and trips organized by your hotel, and I would imagine paying direct will be much cheaper than booking in advance from the UK.
Be carfull about Orangutan trips on Borneo, most of them are just just extended zoos, like seeing the Lions at Longleat as compared to Bristol zoo, not a real experience.

not sure about hatchings but was swimming daily with turtles while in the perhentian islands (besar island). accomodation is pretty rustic there but loved the place.

Yep, it’s probably one of those trips where it’s much simpler not to pre-book everything and wait and see until you get there. Wouldn’t mind finding a decent place to stay in Taman Negara though…

Hotels in KL and Kuantan are booked!

Friend flew into Kl yesterday from China, she had her duty free cigarettes taxed on arrival, I just checked and it is no longer permitted to bring duty free cigarettes into Malaysia, dont know if its relevent to you, certainly wont affect me, butI thought it may be worth flagging up as its a recent change and not std practice.
