I am doing a slightly different holiday to usual this year. I am planning on travelling through France/Spain and ultimately ending up in Ibiza for a week. I generally go on package deals and just fly to wherever I am heading. Do I need a specific type of holiday insurance as I’m dealing with multiple suppliers & opportunities for things to go awry or does standard holiday insurance provide sufficient cover? Also does anyone have any recommendations for breakdown cover? (Car is under warranty but I’m conscious of getting an unrepairable puncture etc or a mechanical failure which is not covered)

Eurotunnel breakdown cover has usually hit the spot for me if your cars manufacturer wont cover if its in warranty

And for the rest illness and repatriation costs peanuts if in the EU

It always used to be ADAC. Not sure if it still is.

Check what price adding breakdown to your car insurance is. I get AA Euro cover for a fraction of what it costs direct from the AA themselves (although the supplier could change to someone else next year, of course).

AA / RAC for breakdown. You want a policy that will return the car to the UK if they can't fix it there.

I’d never considered that and my insurance is up for renewal just before I leave so it’s a good shout.
