Frankfurt - anyone live there or have done?

Possibly not the correct section to post but the German section seems dead though i imagine everyone just hits whats new...

But does anyone or has anyone lived in Frankfurt recently?

I might have a potential job opportunity out there but last time i was there, admittedly 20 years ago, i found it rather quite boring.

Is that still the case or has it become more lively etc? If you could compare it to a UK city, which one would it be?
