Travel insurance

Had to cancel a holiday in February as I developed a tooth abcess 2 days before departure and was advised not to fly. Lodged a claim immediately, and I'm still trying to get a payout.
Total cost of holiday was £1100 ish, so with 2x £150 excess, the claim is for £800.
The hoops we're having to jump through are really getting to annoy me now, and I really feel they hope we will go away. Every query has a 30 day window for a reply, and then they ask another question!
Luckily can afford to lose, but being retired I can spend the time fighting them, and I will not go away!
The proposal forms were all filled correctly and medical ailments properly disclosed.
The insurance company has a senior Naval officer in its name!
So, has anyone made a successful claim with this, or any other company?

Can't comment on your company, but yes had several successful claims. The 2 biggest have been when my wife got pregnant before a ski trip and when her grandmother passed away a few days before a holiday. Both claims paid out in full and without issue. However, I've always been happy to pay a higher premium to an insurer with 5 star Defaqto and good reviews.
