Canada eTA - Slow Response
Discussion
Asking for a friend.
He has booked eight of his family to travel to Canada late next week for a huge family holiday. He booked flights some months ago and at the same time completed all the eTA applications online - all have come back with the necessary authorisation number except one (an adult). All apparently came back immediately apart from this one which it seems has been randomly picked for checking.
The one response missing just says "Pending" according to the online portal .... but no matter what number he calls, he just gets recorded messages with no option to talk to a human. He is a bit annoyed as you would imagine, but apparently there are strikes/work to rule etc at the other end of the applications and these checks are taking longer than the estimated longest pipeline time of six months.
Does anyone have a contact or a number where he could possibly try to get this expedited please?

When we went in 2018 one of us had some issues but a phone call about a week after applying to them got him the info he needed. They emailed about 2 days after applying to tell him he'd need to provide "additional information".
Turns out it was due to his parents applying to be a citizen when he like 10 months old, they granted it after they left. He had to go to the Canadian embassy to revoke his citizenship he didn't know he had in the end.
