Wembley arena - most sensible option post event?
Discussion
I’ve been lucky enough to get a golden circle ticket for Blur on Sunday at Wembley
I’d would normally come to an event like this from Colchester which seems an outrageously long journey (2.5 hours) via Liverpool Street/underground and retur on the train.
I live not far from Braintree, so another option is a car drive down the A120/M11. However, the hotels in that area are £400 a night!
My gut feeling is get a train from Colchester and spend a night at a hotel more central to London at £100 a night.
Anyone else had a similar dilemma before?

I have rented a space in someones driveway , cannot remember the websits, far enough away to avoid the traffic afterwards but close enough to walk. After parking in the official parking, never again.....
I did this. I used 'Park at my place'. I think it's renamed 'Your parking Space' or similar. For me the most important thing is to find a parking place one or two tube stations further away from town than Wembley Park, such as Queensbury.
That way, after the show, while the mob try to cram on to the packed, city bound trains, you get to wait on an almost deserted platform to head out north.
Far more agreeable.

Yep Taylor Hawkins memorial gig we stayed in the city near Paddington I think it was. Tubes seem really well organised heading back into the city after events, busy yes but not chaotic at all.I’d would normally come to an event like this from Colchester which seems an outrageously long journey (2.5 hours) via Liverpool Street/underground and retur on the train.

No perfect answer, but from a similar starting point I tend to drive down to Stanmore (just down the A1/M25 after South Mimms) as it is the terminus of the Jubilee line straight to Wembley.
Lot of parking restrictions so you either have to park 10 minutes walk away or book someone's driveway. Braintree to Stanmore is an hour driving.
