Romantic weekend for 2 old farts
Discussion
WE have a ruby anny coming up in August. Its a busy expensive time of the year so have booked a real nice time away in October for a proper celebration holiday BUT for the actual 40th, I fancy surprising the Missus with just a 3 day break somewhere....a short flight away... say £500 .....niceish hotel.....
Have done quite a few of EU's cities. Some we wouldnt mind going back to others, meh.
Where would YOU take your beloved for a romantic weekend away.........

TY for the above. Agree on Lucca, we enjoyed that city as part of a 5 month EU trip not that long ago. The mrs wasnt thrilled with Rome or Naples but loved nearly all the other Italian cities we visited. Amsterdam, Venice and others like Prague etc were all part of that trip as well. Havent "done" Paris for maybe 10 yrs. Or maybe even London...catch a show..... Bristol would be our preferred flight out...
Edited to add, coming up from Cornwall. Train to London and staying there, would probably be more expensive that driving to Bristol and flying!
(Ahem, not that money is an issue of course, BUT we are spending quite a bit on the November cruise)!!!!
