We have never been to Croatia.
Have been on dozens and dozens of Med holidays, but never Zadar, Croatia.

Looking for beachy reasons to go for a week, middle of September.

I see Split is just 2 hours drive away.

Have spent many holidays just outside Vodice, which is roughly in between Zadar and Split.

Some really lovely areas around there, many small islands and all very pretty.

Bear in mind most beaches are stone rather than sand, although that might be a plus point.

We are staying in Vodice next week, flying to Zadar - heard nothing but good things about both from friends!

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback,

So am I reading that Zadar is just really the airport, and most folk tend to stay half way or an hours drive south towards Split ?
Do like the sandy beaches, but if they are stone, then so be it.

There is a sea organ there which is interesting for a while but I think might get on your nerves eventually

No Zadar looks nice from the reviews I’ve seen - so much so we are staying in an Airbnb in September just on the coastline near the old town which is within walking distance from our accommodation - staying there 7 nights but then travelling to Kotor in Montenegro for 5 nights then heading back to Trogir which is about an hour from the airport for the last 2 nights.
Obviously we have a car and Ryanair have just changed our flights to a much earlier flight which works better for us.
We not beach people so that wouldn’t interest us - more interested in the driving and seeing interesting villages & scenery.

There’s some nice Airbnb’s as well as Booking.com - they do seem to like the colour purple….
