St. Augustine, Florida
Discussion
I’ve got 2 nights and three days coming up in a couple of weeks in St. Augustine, Florida and wondered if anyone has got any hidden gem type suggestions for places to visit and fab little bars and restaurants? I’ve looked at the usual Trip advisor and local guide sites but there is sometime no substitute for first hand knowledge!
Look out for Bill Murray who pat owns a family restaurant locally and yes does pop in. Coquina Beach is stunning and the Prohibition Kitchen is pretty lively. Being barely 4 miles by 2 re city limits nothing is very far away by foot, bicycle I horse drawn carriage. Get out into the Atlantic Ocean by boat too if possible.

That sounds great - Thank you!I have been there a few times (I live in South Carolina). There is St Augustine and St Augustine Beach close by. The town is quite small really and touristy. Its the usual restaurant and bar fare of America. Not really any big chains though. I haven't actually been in it but the fort is big. I have done a tour of the college which is worthwhile. It's interesting to walk around the city and there is a waterfront area. I am sure it will be busy at weekends now. There is the alligator farm on the outskirts (it smells a bit).
St Augustine Beach is so so. There's one main drag running along the seafront. There are several bar/restaurants along it but there's no real centre per se.
Overall I'd say 2 nights/3 days is enough to see it all. I don't know of anything close by worth visiting.
I have eaten at Michael's Tasting Room and it was pretty good.

We t this year, Flagler collage worth a look around, lightener museum is decent with a restaurant in the swimming pool
Don't do the prohibition kitchen food is below average imho, the pirate museum is way overpriced
Auggies draft room is not bad for self service beers bar snacks are decent value.
The fort is a nice couple of hours opens at 10
Lighthouse ghost tour was ok but I hate heights so going up it I didn't do but Mrs did. We would have liked to have done the museum there during the day tho rather than the ghost hunter thing
Sarbez on Anastasia island is good great grilled cheese superb beers, pinball and classic arcade machines
We stayed at the voco on Anastasia island and walked over several times (only there one night)
We will be back next Feb taking relatives to see it
Oh and if driving from Orlando area or past Daytona from anywhere else stop at buc-ee's seriously the best petrol station ever
