We’re aiming to get out to Spain in August to finalise my late-Fathers affairs in Spain.

The plan would be Sheffield to Folkstone (overnight stay)
Calais to Cahors (overnight stay)
Cahors to Dads villa, with a stay again in Cahors on the way back.

I’ve found a nice place just off the autoroute at Cahors, but I’m struggling with places near Dover / Folkstone.

I don’t really want to go spending any more than £120 per night. Any recommendations please chaps? As I’ll be travelling with my teenage daughter, I’d rather it wasn’t a hotel 80% full of horny Afghans, Iraqis and Syrians looking to ‘culturally enrich’ my little girl.

In advance, many thanks thumbup

There’s a premier inn and a travel lodge on the junction 9 m20 Ashford, eureka park.

There’s pub/chain restaurants/cinema/takeaways all near by, and 10 mins to tunnel, 20 mins to ferry.

The Holliday inns, have been permanently taken over and are closed to public.

TBF the majority in the one near us is women/children.

Ashford has more choice, there is a new Hampton by Hilton near the train station that people at our work often stay at and say is good, the Ashford International hotel is nearer the motorway and gets good reviews.

Yep there must be 150/200 little bikes/scooters in the car park that they ride around on, we donated some prams and toys via the local church. Some of the mums you see pushing the little kids to the park.

It’s all coned off with security..

The Hampton is good and has a brewery next door! With a restaurant, the town is a 10 min walk.

International is great, pool and a decent bar, you can reach the cinemas/restaurants via a footbridge.

Eastwell Manor do a deal sometimes, indoor/outdoor pool..

Pubs wise, Flying Horse and Conningbrook both tidy, and I’ve been known to have a beer in them..

I've stayed at The Ashford International a few times and it has always been decent. There is also a passable Best Western Burlington in Folkestone by the sea front. Dover Marina Best Western also reasonable.
