Eurotunnel - car just over 1.85m

I am booked onto the Eurotunnel for Saturday early hours.

I've checked my car height and its 1.87m high but the booking states car under 1.85m.

Is this going to be a problem when we get there?

Its a roofbox rather than just a tall car. The roof box is slimline alpine type.

The website questions whether you have anything fixed to the roof, if the answer is yes, you get put on the single deck train.

I would say yes, it will be an issue for the standard decks. They have height restrictors on all the approaches for standard height decks and I'm internally ducking under all of them even though I know my car will fit (1.80m).

But either way I strongly suspect that once you're there if you just follow the signs for the high vehicle decks you'll be fine. The ground crew will almost certainly direct you that way anyway regardless of what your ticket says.

I'd go with the high vehicle (single deck) approach- much less claustrophobic, more room all round.

The only slight drawback is if you arrive early, there won't be a chance of getting on an earlier shuttle...

It was booked aver 6 months ago before we had the roofbox unfortunately.

I have called up and theyve amended my booking to include roofbox so all sorted now.
